Mission
As a Financial Controller/Accountant at AES you’re accountable for collecting, analyzing and reporting financial data. In the role you propose solutions, cost reductions and optimization of processes. Your profile requires in depth understanding of finance, tax and accounting principles (HGB and IFRS).
Accounting/Tax
- Manage accounting books and financial statements under HGB/IFRS with the support of the accountant
- Organize close and schedules, manage accruals and provisions
- Responsible for analytical accounting
- Prepare and organize the yearly audit with support of the accountant
- Ensure tax compliance, manage tax audits with the support of the accountant/tax advisor
- Prepare and analyze internal and external mandatory reports
- Back-up accountant for various tasks ensuring business continuity (i.e. payments execution)
Controlling/Reporting
- Develop financial and operating KPIs and ad-hoc financial analysis to drive better decision-making and monitoring
- Prepare reporting packages and dashboards to track performance (company/project/cost center) and compliance, including variance analysis and executive commentary
- Organize and consolidate budget and forecasts, including long term projections and cash forecasts, reviews data and proposes cost reductions
- Provide ad-hoc financial modelling, business case calculations, financial analysis and reporting
Process and Tools
- Draw up, develop and update the accounting and finance process and guidelines, propose process improvements
- Support internal controls and various audit activities
- Key user ERP and Business intelligence tool, maintenance of the general ledger
Profile
- Degree in economics with a specialization in Controlling/Accounting (or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired by other means)
- Several years (more than 7 years) of professional experience in accounting and controlling (analysis, budgeting and financial controls)
- Advanced Skills in ERP system (ProAlpha, SAP FI-CO or similar) and AI / business intelligence tools (Qlik) skills
- Microsoft Excel skills on an expert level (ability to develop Excel macros)
- Experience with working in an international environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate/present effectively with all levels of company personnel,
- Flexibility (willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as needed) and ability to work under pressure
- Careful, diligent, and detail-oriented approach to work
- Excellent German and English language skills (English working language)
- Strong organizational skills combined with a proactive mindset, reliability, and a results-driven approach
